Ambon, Maluku, Sept. 22 -- Indonesian Quarantine Agency (Barantin) Head Abdul Kadir Karding flagged off 30 tons of Maluku fishery commodities worth Rp4.3 billion (US$234 thousand) for export to the United States, Singapore, Japan, and Vietnam to boost the region's flagship competitiveness.

According to him, the shipment consisted of 29 tons of tuna and one ton of mud crabs.

"Today, we are exporting approximately 30 tons of fish valued at around Rp4.3 billion (US$234 thousand). We continue to encourage this activity, as I believe the potential is immense," he said while flagging off the export on Tuesday.
