Indonesia, Aug. 26 -- Aswin Gantina, Head of Bank Indonesia's Purwokerto Representative Office, said the Indonesian Credit Card (KKI) is designed to complement the digital payment ecosystem by providing an alternative payment method.

"This is not about extending credit, but rather about deferring payment. The facility allows users to make purchases before making the payment," he said on Wednesday.

According to Gantina, the KKI complements various payment instruments currently used by the public, ranging from account balances and debit cards to digital wallets and credit cards.
