Denpasar, Bali, April 16 -- Indonesia's National Search and Rescue Agency in Bali evacuated a Filipino crew member who suffered a medical emergency aboard a cargo vessel near Benoa Port, officials said Thursday.

The crew member, identified as 37-year-old Tagayom Lorben Tubigon, serves on the Marshall Islands-flagged cargo ship M/V Athanasia C, Bali SAR Head I Nyoman Sidakarya said.

Sidakarya said the evacuation followed a report of a deteriorating medical condition while the vessel was in waters near Benoa Port.

The incident was first reported at 5:30 p.m. local time on Wednesday by the ship's agent representative, Zumar of PT Trans Cakrawala, he said.
