Denpasar, Aug. 18 -- The Bali provincial government, through its Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), has allocated Rp150 million (more than US$8,300) in initial funding to procure and deliver relief supplies to residents affected by the earthquake in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

Bali BPBD Executive Chief I Gede Agung Teja Bhusana Yadnya confirmed that his team was currently in Ende District, NTT, procuring relief supplies from local businesses.

"The procurement process is still underway," he said in a message received in Denpasar, Bali, on Tuesday.

Bali Governor Wayan Koster on Monday (Aug. 17) instructed the BPBD chief to deploy five personnel to areas affected by Saturday's magnitude 7.7 earthquake on Flores Island.
