Denpasar, Bali, March 25 -- Bali Governor Wayan Koster has called for districts and cities to stop sending waste to landfills such as Suwung Landfill by 2027, noting that the site has grown into a mountain of garbage.

"Starting in 2027, the Suwung Landfill model should no longer exist in other districts. The BKK (special financial assistance) provided in 2027 will be intended for waste management in each region," he said at the Bali Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) Plenary Session on Wednesday.

According to him, the BKK will focus on resolving waste management issues, adding that those who fail to take responsibility will not receive assistance.
