Denpasar, March 16 -- Bali Governor Wayan Koster on Monday distributed Rp1.263 billion (around US$74,000) in disaster relief to 50 residents affected by flash floods that struck Buleleng District on March 6.
In a statement released in Denpasar, he said Rp435 million of the funds were allocated to rehabilitate 31 houses damaged by flooding in Banjar Village. Of these, eight houses were severely damaged, 20 sustained moderate damage, and three suffered minor damage.
To support the recovery of the local economy, Koster noted that the provincial government had allocated Rp15 million to repair business facilities and equipment, including goat pens and chicken coops.
