Bali Airport's flights to NTT operating normally after quake
Denpasar, Bali, Aug. 15 -- Flights between Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport and East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) were operating normally Saturday after a magnitude 7.7 earthquake struck the province.
The earthquake struck 30 kilometers (18.6 miles) northeast of Nagekeo District at 5:58 a.m. Central Indonesia Time (WITA; GMT+8). Its initial magnitude of 7.0 was later revised to 7.7.
The epicenter was about 685 kilometers (426 miles) from Bali's Kuta area, where the airport is located.
"We can confirm that flight operations and airport services at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport are running normally and optimally," airport spokesman Gede Eka Sandi Asmadi said Saturday.
