Jakarta, May 20 -- Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman asserted that the implementation of B50 biodiesel will not disrupt the national cooking oil supply, as Indonesia's palm oil production is rising and remains in surplus for domestic needs.

Speaking in Jakarta on Tuesday, he said the surge in crude palm oil (CPO) production has secured national reserves and maintained a surplus, despite a portion of the yield being allocated to support the B50 policy this year.

Sulaiman noted that national palm oil production previously stood at around 46 million tons, making the government optimistic that the demands for biodiesel, domestic cooking oil, and exports can all be met simultaneously.
