Malang, East Java, Sept. 11 -- The Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park Authority (TNBTS) has closed several tourist access points in the Mount Bromo area of East Java following a fire in the Pengol Savanna.

The Head of the TNBTS Authority, Rudijanta Tjahja Nugraha, explained that the closure of tourist access to Mount Bromo, via the Jemplang route in Malang District, has been in effect since Thursday (September 10), the day the fire first broke out in the Pengol Savanna.

"Tourist visits to Bromo via the Jemplang entrance have been suspended to support fire containment and firefighting efforts and ensure visitor safety," Rudi noted in a statement received on Friday.
