Asset forfeiture bill targeted for passage by December 2026: DPR RI
Jakarta, Aug. 18 -- Indonesia's House of Representatives (DPR RI) is targeting passage of an asset forfeiture bill by December 2026, with lawmakers holding public hearings two or three times a week to gather public input.
"We are targeting passage before December 2026, or within two legislative sessions at the latest," the House's Commission III Chairman Habiburokhman said in a statement received in Jakarta on Tuesday.
He said Commission III would continue deliberating the bill during the 2026-2027 legislative session, including public hearings to gather public views.
"Many groups have requested public hearings on the bill. We will make every effort to hear them and ensure meaningful public participation," he said.
