Jakarta, April 20 -- Indonesia's Ambassador to Thailand and UNESCAP Hari Prabowo urged Asia-Pacific nations to strengthen cooperation and resist geopolitical rivalries as global tensions strain the multilateral system, calling on the region to lead by example in sustaining inclusive growth and stability.
Speaking at the opening of the 82nd session of United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) in Bangkok on Monday, Hari said the region must remain forward-looking despite global uncertainty.
"The Asia-Pacific must lead by example. Let us not be distracted by rivalries; we must continue to be guided by cooperation for mutual progress," he said, as broadcast by UN Web TV.
