Jakarta, May 4 -- Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa assessed that the inflation rate in April 2026, which was recorded at 0.13 percent month-to-month (mtm), was quite under control.
Meanwhile, on an annual basis (yoy), inflation in April 2026 was recorded at 2.42 percent (yoy).
Purbaya, in a media briefing in Jakarta on Monday, explained that inflationary pressures are now starting to subside as the government normalizes its policies.
The government's efforts to maintain fuel subsidies amid geopolitical turmoil have helped curb the surge in inflation, particularly in the energy sector, he added.
