Jakarta, Sept. 21 -- Artificial intelligence (AI) has the potential to propel Indonesia into a strategic global position across data, energy, infrastructure, and human capacity, according to Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology Stella Christie.

Stella emphasized that Indonesia possesses the necessary foundation-including policies, digital infrastructure, talent, and abundant renewable energy reserves-to build a sovereign AI ecosystem.

"Indonesia has a tremendous opportunity; we possess the infrastructure, policies, and talent," Stella said in a statement on Monday.

"Indonesia also holds immense renewable energy potential. We can succeed and advance if we approach this collaboratively," she added.
