India, June 30 -- Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray suffered another political setback on Tuesday after senior Mumbai leader and MLC Sachin Ahir joined the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena and filed his nomination for the post of Deputy Chairman of the Maharashtra Legislative Council.

Ahir submitted his nomination as the ruling Mahayuti alliance's candidate in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar. The election for the Deputy Chairman's post is scheduled to be held on Wednesday.
