India, May 23 -- In a major push for the entertainment industry, the Maharashtra government is set to introduce a single-window clearance system for permissions related to live events, concerts and large public programmes, aimed at simplifying and speeding up the approval process.

A senior official said the Directorate General of Information and Public Relations (DGIPR) has been appointed as the nodal agency for implementing the initiative. Principal Secretary Brijesh Singh, who heads the department, chaired the first meeting of the state-level committee on Friday.
