Four Kukis Killed in Twin Manipur Attacks; Woman Missing, Child Injured
India, Sept. 14 -- Four members of the Kuki community, including two women, were killed in two separate attacks in Manipur on Sunday, while a woman was reported missing and a child sustained gunshot injuries.
The attacks took place at Tollen village in Tamenglong district and Longpi village in Noney district, marking another escalation of violence in the state's hill areas.
The first attack was reported around 4 am at Tollen, where unidentified armed men allegedly opened fire at the residence of Lhingjangai Singsit. Singsit was killed in the firing, while her husband, Seineh Singsit, and their young son were injured.
Assam Rifles personnel from the Kaimai base evacuated the injured towards Jiribam for treatment. Seineh later succumbed...
