Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Orders Crackdown on Unsafe PGs After Satya Niketan Building Collapse
India, Sept. 7 -- Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Monday announced a crackdown on unsafe buildings being used for public activities, including paying guest (PG) accommodations, nursing homes and schools, following the Satya Niketan building collapse that claimed six lives.
Gupta, who visited the collapse site, said the Delhi government was working with the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) on a policy that would make periodic structural audits and safety certifications mandatory for buildings used for public purposes.
