India, July 18 -- Bollywood actor Aamir Khan has allegedly received a death threat through a viral social media post and an audio clip purportedly shared by individuals claiming links to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

The persons named in the post identified themselves as Arzoo Bishnoi and Tyson Bishnoi. Claiming association with jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, they accused Khan of promoting what they described as "love jihad" and issued threats against him.

However, the authenticity of the social media account, the viral post and the accompanying audio recording has not been independently verified.

According to reports, Mumbai Police are examining the material circulating on social media.
