Srilanka, Oct. 12 -- Heavy rainfall in the upper catchment areas of the Kalu Ganga has caused water levels to rise in the Kalawellawa area.



The Department of Irrigation stated that the water level at the Millakanda gauging station had exceeded five meters as of this morning (12).



Accordingly, the Department has urged people living in low-lying areas along the Kalu Ganga to remain vigilant.
