Sri Lanka, April 3 -- The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) has decided to reduce the duration of the scheduled water supply interruptions to 18 hours, taking into consideration the requests made by consumers.
The Water Board further stated that there will be no changes to the previously scheduled dates and locations affected by the water cuts.
The NWSDB further advised the public to use water sparingly.
A 24-hour water cut was recently announced initially to several areas including Padukka, Homagama, Pelanwatta, and Pannipitiya, to be imposed once in three days, due to the prevailing dry weather conditions affecting the island.
