Sri Lanka, April 9 -- The White House has reaffirmed its claims to have "achieved every single objective" set out since the start of the Iran war.

In a post on social media, it said Iran's Navy was "destroyed" along with Tehran's defence industrial base "annihilated" and its nuclear ambitions "denied".

"Iran's ability to threaten the region has been systematically dismantled," the White House added.

Meanwhile, US Defence Secretary ⁠Pete Hegseth also declared a decisive military victory over Iran and said that Tehran's missile programme has been functionally destroyed.
