SriLanka, June 9 -- The United National Party (UNP) has raised concerns over the treatment of former Director of the State Intelligence Service (SIS) Major General (Retired) Suresh Sallay, calling on authorities to ensure that all actions taken against him comply with the constitution and international human rights obligations.

In a statement, the UNP noted that Suresh Sallay, who is currently receiving treatment at the Colombo National Hospital following his arrest, is entitled to the protections guaranteed under Sri Lankan law and international conventions.
