Srilanka, July 16 -- Three suspects have been arrested in two separate operations carried out by the Police, with the seizure of more than 2.6 kilograms of the narcotic substance Crystal methamphetamine ('Ice').



Officers attached to the Southern Expressway Aparekka Sub-Control Station intercepted a car travelling towards Colombo yesterday (15).



During the inspection, police had recovered 2 kilograms and 554 milligrams of 'Ice' concealed inside the vehicle.



The two suspects, aged 28 and 32, are residents of the Borella area, Police said.



The car used to transport the drugs was also taken into police custody before the suspects were handed over to the Thihagoda Police Station for further investigations.
