Sri Lanka, May 10 -- A 15-year-old boy has died after drowning while bathing in the Ma Oya river in Mawanella.

Police said the deceased was a resident of Mawanella.

Investigations have revealed that the teenager had gone to bathe in the river along with another child when the incident occurred.

The body has been placed at the morgue of the Aranayaka Hospital.

Mawanella Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
