Sri Lanka must move beyond economic recovery: PM Harini
Srilanka, Aug. 12 -- Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya has stressed that overcoming Sri Lanka's economic crisis alone cannot be the country's ultimate goal, saying a broader economic and institutional transformation is essential for sustainable progress.
The Prime Minister made the remarks while addressing the inauguration of the 39th Annual Convention of the Organisation of Professional Associations of Sri Lanka (OPA), held under the theme "Envisioning Sri Lanka: Beyond Recovery."
Prime Minister Amarasuriya said the economic, social and institutional challenges faced by Sri Lanka in recent years had weakened public confidence and created uncertainty over the country's future.
