SriLanka, Sept. 28 -- Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Arun Hemachandra has stressed the need to ensure stronger social protection mechanisms, safe overseas employment opportunities and economic security for migrant workers.

He made the remarks while participating in an International Labour Organization (ILO) programme held in Colombo today (28).

Representatives from both migrant-sending and destination countries participated in the programme, which focused on strengthening cooperation to safeguard the rights and social protection of migrant workers.
