Special priority card to be introduced for differently-abled persons
Srilanka, June 30 -- A special priority card will be introduced to ensure priority access to services for differently-abled persons at government institutions.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the National Council for Persons with Disabilities held under the chairmanship of Minister of Rural Development, Social Security and Community Empowerment Dr. Upali Pannilage, today (30).
The pilot project for the initiative is scheduled to be implemented through the Kaduwela Divisional Secretariat.
The Council also agreed to issue an official circular on the classification of disabilities to standardise procedures across state institutions.
