Srilanka, Aug. 17 -- Showers will occur at times in Sabaragamuwa province and in Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts, today (17), the Department of Meteorology stated.



Several spells of showers will occur in Western and North-western provinces and in Galle and Matara districts.



Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Uva province and in Ampara and Batticaloa districts after 2.00 p.m, it stated.



Fairly strong winds of about 30-40 kmph can be expected at times over Northern, North-central, North-western and Southern provinces and in Trincomalee District, the Met. Department added.
