SriLanka, Aug. 29 -- A van veered off the road and crashed into a high-voltage electricity pole on the Piliyandala-Kottawa Road.



Seven passengers travelling in the van sustained injuries in the accident and were admitted to the Kalubowila Hospital for treatment.



Police suspect that the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel, causing the vehicle to veer off the road and crash into the electricity pole.



Following the collision, a power outage was also reported in the area.
