Second Randoli Perahera parades the streets of Kandy
Srilanka, Aug. 24 -- The second Randoli Perahera of the historic Kandy Esala Perahera commenced parading the streets this evening (24), drawing large crowds of spectators to the streets of Kandy.
The procession began at around 7.00 p.m. at an auspicious time, proceeding in an easterly direction.
The sacred relic casket was carried by the tusker Sinha Raja during tonight's procession, while the tuskers Miyan Raja and Pulathisi Raja accompanied Sinha Raja on either side.
A large number of devotees and visitors have gathered in Kandy to witness the spectacular pageant.
