Sri Lanka, Sept. 20 -- Rainy weather is expected to continue in several parts of Sri Lanka tomorrow (21), with heavy rainfall of more than 100 millimetres possible in some areas, according to the Department of Meteorology.



The forecast, issued at 2.00 p.m. today (20), said a low-pressure area has formed over the Bay of Bengal, northeast of Sri Lanka, near the Andaman region. Although the system is not expected to directly affect the island, prevailing wind patterns towards the system are expected to maintain rainy conditions, particularly in the southwestern parts of the country.
