Sri Lanka, May 14 -- The Department of Meteorology stated that the highest rainfall recorded in the country during the 24-hour period from 8.30 a.m. yesterday to 8.30 a.m. today (14) was reported from Puttalam, which received 256.2 mm of rainfall.
