Sri Lanka, May 1 -- Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya says that the history of Sri Lanka's labour movement reflects a long struggle marked by sacrifice, resilience, and determination in the pursuit of rights, justice, and dignity.
She emphasized that working people have played a central role in shaping the country's economic and social transformation over time.
Issuing her May Day message, the Prime Minister noted that from early labour struggles to major trade union movements, workers have consistently stood as a powerful force for change.
