Srilanka, June 23 -- President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has appointed J. M. U. K. Jayasekera as the Chief Secretary of the Sabaragamuwa Province.

The letter of appointment was handed over to him this afternoon (23) at the Presidential Secretariat by Secretary to the President, Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake, according to the President's Media Division (PMD).

Jayasekera, a Special Grade officer of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service, was serving as Secretary to the Ministry of Sports, Youth Affairs, Tourism, Transport, Cultural Affairs and Small Industries of the Uva Provincial Council at the time of his appointment.
