Srilanka, July 7 -- An adjournment debate on the deadly clashes that occurred at Negombo Prison will be held in parliament today (7 July) from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., following a request made by the Opposition.



Earlier today, a group of Opposition Members of Parliament submitted a letter to the Speaker requesting an urgent adjournment debate to draw Parliament's attention to the clashes that erupted at Negombo Prison.



The letter was signed by several Opposition MPs, including Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa, Ranjith Madduma Bandara, Kabir Hashim, Sujeewa Senasinghe, Kins Nelson, Rohini Wijerathna, and Hector Appuhamy.
