Srilanka, Sept. 17 -- The Department of Government Information has announced that commuters travelling by train can purchase tickets online.



According to a statement issued by the department, the facility is available through the website www.pravesha.lk, while train tickets can also be purchased via the 'Pravesha' mobile app.



Passengers can purchase tickets online by following these steps:



1. Visit pravesha.lk.

2. Add your trip details and complete your payment using a credit or debit card.

3. Get your e-ticket delivered to you via SMS or email.

4. Scan the QR code provided on the e-ticket to validate the ticket at the railway station and on the train.
