Navy rescues cardiac patient from Baththalangunduwa Island
SriLanka, Sept. 18 -- The Sri Lanka Navy has rendered assistance to transfer a patient who suffered a sudden heart attack on Baththalangunduwa Island to the Kalpitiya Base Hospital, last night (17).
Naval personnel initially provided basic first aid to the patient before transferring him off the island aboard Inshore Patrol Craft P 233.
Having brought the patient to the pier at SLNS Vijaya, he was then rushed to the hospital for medical attention, the Navy said.
The Navy remains continuously prepared to assist island communities with emergency medical evacuations and community support services across the region.
