Sri Lanka, May 23 -- According to the Department of Irrigation, there is a possibility of a minor flood situation occurring in low-lying areas of the Kalu Ganga basin within the next 24 hours.

The Department further stated that considerable rainfall has been recorded in the catchment areas of the Kalu Ganga basin up to now.

Based on the current rainfall situation and river water levels recorded at hydrological stations along the Kalu Ganga, there is a possibility of minor flooding in low-lying areas of the Kalu Ganga valley. These areas include the Divisional Secretariat Divisions of Ingiriya, Horana, Dodangoda, Millaniya, Kalutara, Bulathsinhala, Madurawala, and Palindanuwara.
