Srilanka, Aug. 6 -- The Sri Lanka Navy has launched a special rescue operation after an Indian fishing vessel that entered Sri Lankan waters illegally met with an accident off the coast of Delft Island.



When inquired by Ada Derana, Navy Media Spokesman Commander Chaminda Walakuluge said the Indian fishing vessel engaged in illegal fishing activities in Sri Lankan waters met with an accident, with 11 people on board.



The Navy Media Spokesman said the incident occurred last night (05). Rescue teams are currently conducting operations to assist those affected.
