Srilanka, Aug. 17 -- Four people, including a six-year-old child, have died in separate road accidents reported in various parts of the country over the past 24 hours.



In the Kandakuliya, area of Kalpitiya, a motorcycle travelling towards Kalpitiya had veered off the road after the rider lost control and crashed into an electricity pole.



The motorcycle rider and a six-year-old child who was travelling with him had sustained serious injuries and were admitted to the Kalpitiya Hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries.



The deceased have been identified as a 40-year-old man and a six-year-old child, both residents of the Kandakuliya area, police said.
