Former Fisheries Corporation Chairman remanded after failing to fulfil bail conditions
Srilanka, Aug. 18 -- Former Chairman of the Ceylon Fisheries Corporation Mahil Senaratne, who was granted bail after being arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC), has been remanded after failing to fulfil the bail conditions.
Senaratne was produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court today (18), where he was initially granted bail.
The court ordered his release on two surety bails of Rs. 2.5 million each and also imposed a travel ban preventing him from leaving the country.
However, as the suspect was unable to fulfil the required bail conditions, he was subsequently remanded, Ada Derana reporter said.
