Sri Lanka, April 4 -- Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in most parts of the island after 1.00 p.m. today (04), the Department of Meteorology said.

Fairly heavy rainfalls above 75 mm are likely at some places in the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva, North Central and Eastern provinces, the Met. Department noted.

Moreover, misty conditions can be expected at some places in the Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva and North-Central provinces and in Kurunegala and Vavuniya districts during the early hours of the morning.

The general public has been requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
