Sri Lanka, Aug. 26 -- Showers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle and Matara districts today (26), the Department of Meteorology said.

Fairly heavy rainfalls above 75 mm are likely at some places, the Met. Department stated.

A few showers may occur in Anuradhapura, Matale and Hambantota districts.

Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Ampara, Monaragala and Batticaloa districts after 2.00 p.m.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over the other areas of the island, it added.
