Sri Lanka, April 3 -- A committee of experts has been appointed to enhance the standards and undertake the restructuring of National Colleges of Education.

The committee is chaired by Professor Liyanage Amarakeerthi of the Department of Sinhala, University of Peradeniya. Other members include Senior Professor Arosha S. Adikaram from the Department of Human Resource Management, University of Colombo; Professor P. Iyngaran from the Department of Chemistry, University of Jaffna; and retired Senior Lecturer P.A.D. Anil of the Sri Lanka Teacher Educators Service.
