Srilanka, June 23 -- The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a proposal to publish a new circular introducing revised regulations and guidelines for the admission of children to Grade 1 in government schools, effective from 2027.



According to the government, circular instructions governing Grade 1 admissions are issued annually. The new framework aims to ensure equal and fair access to education, enhance transparency in the admission process and minimize irregularities.
