Sri Lanka, March 30 -- The body of a gem businessman who went missing in Nilagama, Kahawatta was found today (30) inside a mining pit.

Police launched an investigation into the disappearance of the businessman along the Kahawatta- Nilagama road.

The victim has been identified as a 61-year-old father of two from Kahawatta.

Preliminary investigations revealed that he had been traveling on a motorcycle along the Kahawatta- Nilagama road on March 28.

His motorcycle was later found parked near a bend on the same road, while his mobile phone was discovered yesterday (29) in a nearby tea estate.
