Sri Lanka, April 4 -- The Association of Medical Specialists (AMS) stated that they will not support the strike action launched this morning (April 4) by the Government Medical Officers' Association (GMOA).
AMS Secretary, Specialist Dr. R. Gnanasekaram, said that specialist doctors will continue their duties as usual, ensuring uninterrupted specialized medical services in hospitals.
He added that post-graduate trainee specialist doctors will also refrain from joining the strike.
Gnanasekaram noted that the AMS comprises around 2,300 doctors, all of whom are continuing their duties as usual, emphasizing that it is the association's policy not to engage in strike action.
