Appeals Court defers further submissions in Gotabaya Rajapaksa petition to July
Srilanka, June 24 -- The Court of Appeal took up for consideration, for the second consecutive day, the petition filed by former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa seeking an order preventing his arrest in connection with the investigations into the Easter Sunday terrorist attacks.
The petition was heard before a Court of Appeal bench comprising President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Rohantha Abeysuriya, and Justice Sarath Dissanayake, said Ada Derana reporter.
President's Counsel Romesh de Silva made further submissions on behalf of Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
Court subsequently postponed further submissions until July 6.
