AI technology to be introduced on intercity private buses to monitor drivers
Sri Lanka, Sept. 5 -- A pilot project has been launched to introduce Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology to intercity private buses, with the aim of enhancing the safety of both passengers and drivers.
The initiative is being implemented under the guidance of Minister of Transport, Highways and Urban Development Bimal Rathnayake and Deputy Minister Prasanna Gunasena. It is coordinated by the National Council for Road Safety and implemented by the National Transport Commission.
As part of the first phase of the project, technical equipment was installed in long-distance private buses today (05) at the Bastian Mawatha Bus Station in Colombo.
