SriLanka, July 18 -- A total of 16 individuals have been arrested by the Homagama Police Traffic Division, along with 16 motorcycles that had been illegally modified from their original condition.



The arrests were made during raids carried out by officials attached to the Homagama Police Traffic Division at several locations in the Homagama area, targeting motorcycles being ridden at excessive speeds and generating excessive noise.



Police said the motorcycles taken into custody had various unauthorised modifications, including altered silencers, removal of side mirrors and mudguards, absence of number plates, and changes to lighting systems.
